Hello! I am back

Post by Dharmasherab » Mon Nov 13, 2017 7:31 pm

Dear Buddhists,

My screenname is Dharmasherab. I was born Theravada Buddhist but recently I entered Vajrayana Buddhism. However I still maintain my Theravada practice and continue to learn Theravada like I have always done.

I hope to read important threads in Dhamma Wheel forum and get directions from there. In addition to my continued learning in Theravada I am particularly interested in the Bodhisattva path within Theravada Buddhism and will be happy if people can direct me towards such threads/posts.

With Metta,
Dharmasherab

The Bodhisatta path of Theravada Buddhism to become a future samma-sam-buddha? That's quite an ambitious endeavor!

Welcome to DW. The path in Theravada is that of the arahant. More about it here:

Hello Dharmasherab :hello:

I used to practice Vajrayana before changing to Theravada.

‘Don’t be an arahant, don’t be a bodhisattva, don’t be anything at all – if you are anything at all you will suffer’

Welcome back!

:namaste:
The heart of the path is so simple. No need for long explanations. Give up clinging to love and hate, just rest with things as they are. That is all I do in my own practice.

Do not try to become anything. Do not make yourself into anything. Do not be a meditator. Do not become enlightened. When you sit, let it be. When you walk, let it be. Grasp at nothing. Resist nothing.

Of course, there are dozens of meditation techniques to develop samadhi and many kinds of vipassana. But it all comes back to this-just let it all be. Step over here where it is cool, out of the battle.

- Ajahn Chah
