Hail well met; my name is David, and I hope to enmesh myself in the community here for the next few months while I finish up my masters degree prior to seeking ordination at Santi Forest Monastery this November.
(I tasked myself with telling the whole story of my presence in one sentence, greeting and all, and I think it went pretty well!)

(With a mixture of sympathetic joy and jealousy, I wish you...)
Welcome to Dhamma Wheel!
I was actually just reading the ordination poilicies at SFM earlier this week... very sensible they are, too.

Welcome David!

To study is to know the texts,
To practice is to know your defilements,
To attain the goal is to know and let go.

the mind, still,

Attached to nothing, letting go:
Know that this is the way
to allay all stress.

And so it is! Seven days until I depart... and what a fascinating group of folk with whom to explore the Dhamma! Perhaps I'll find occasion to take the pulse of Dhamma Wheel again; my understanding has been irrevocably aggrandized over these last months, so thank you, all, for that.
~peace~

Greetings Sobeh,
Congratulations on your upcoming ordination and I look forward to meeting you one day, and hopefully offering alms or requisites.
