Kara seems to be defined in the present tense.
Kara [fr. kṛ] 1. (adj.) ( -- ˚) producing, causing, forming, making, doing, e. g. anta˚ putting an end to; pabhaŋ causing splendour; pāpa˚ doing evil; divā˚ & divasa the day -- maker, i. e. the sun;
