What is the difference between Namarupa and Anusaya?
It is considered that Arhants has destroyed the Anusaya or eliminate the ten fetters.
In the same time, Arahant's consciousness is not established in Namarupa.
It appears there is a relation between Namarupa and Anusaya.
What is the difference between Namarupa and Anusaya?

Re: What is the difference between Namarupa and Anusaya?
Where is the evidence DN 11 and MN 49 are about arahants? Why would Buddha teach "unestablished consciousness" to faithless Brahma gods but not to Sariputta and the other bhikkhus?
Anusaya appears to be pollution that pollutes and bends/inclines/takes control of Nama-Rupa.
For example, when your mind has the urge to post on DW, this urge is anusaya. The hand controlled by the asusaya to type on the computer is rupa. Therefore, if before posting on DW, you sit very still for 5 minutes, the mind-&-body sitting still is the unarisen nama-rupa and the urge screaming inside the nama-rupa wanting to post on DW is the arisen anusaya. When the anusaya is not subdued or not calmed then if the nama-rupa becomes the slave of the anusaya, this is the arising of nama-rupa, which then engages in contact with the object desired by the anusaya.
So, in my opinion, a Buddha has nama-rupa but the nama-rupa of a Buddha is not subject to "arising" ("samudaya"). An analogy is filling a balloon with hot air. The hot air is the anusaya. The balloon is the nama-rupa. The Buddha has nama-rupa but the nama-rupa of a Buddha is not pumped up and filled with hot air.
There is always an official executioner. If you try to take his place, It is like trying to be a master carpenter and cutting wood. If you try to cut wood like a master carpenter, you will only hurt your hand.

According to definition namarupa is of rupa , and feeling perception intention contact attention.
How can materiality and mentality of the Buddha is not arising ? Would Buddha still have feeling and perception ?
Does Buddha's bodily pains is something arising ? Does Buddha still has thought ?

Re: What is the difference between Namarupa and Anusaya?
My impression of the term "paticcasammupada" is it literally means "dependent-co-arising". This means all 12 conditions must co-arise, together. If this is true, then no dependent co-arising of nama-rupa occurs to a Buddha because co-arising must mean nama-rupa co-arises with ignorance. The functioning of nama-rupa without ignorance would not be paticcasammupada.

How does it work for Arahant?

Nope , Paticasamuppada is about the arising of dukkha , therefore your assumption is not valid .DooDoot wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 12:23 pmMy impression of the term "paticcasammupada" is it literally means "dependent-co-arising". Nope , Buddha and arahant ended defilement , the previous aggregates still remains , it functions until the break up happens . As long as the aggregates functioning , nothing per the aggregates is different other than that it does not give rise to defilement .
