retro, here
so i was notified that my links are not showing up. and i verified by looking from an incognito window. but my links that are not showing up are public facebook posts. i would really like these posts to appear because they're awesome, the texts by themselves may not be as eye-catching.

Re: retro, here

This is almost two years old, but I suppose it won't have changed.
(To be honest, btw., I find these low-effort embedded FB tear-off-calender posts quite unappealing. I think "a really good dhammaduta" might be one that offers some elaboration around those offered quotes in a useful context and less focus on distracting flashy images. But that just as an aside and, of course, just my opinion. )

So if I understand correctly, there's nothing broken which could be made to work from the forum's side. People who have certain browser security settings turned on will not see the embedded stuff from Facebook, neither here nor anywhere else.answer wrote:Firefox considers the Facebook JS SDK to be a “tracker” script – justifiably so IMHO, because we’ve all read how much data Facebook is collecting, even for not logged in users. And since so many sites use their SDK, the “reach” of their tracking is quite extensive as well.
And with the LinkedIn SDK it is just the same.

Re: retro, here
well, at some point i would like to have those posts edited, they are only a few. and i hope that i will be given the chance to submit the proper texts and images instead of them just deleting the portions of the posts

Re: retro, here
Yes, the inability to edit old posts has its drawbacks. And it may seem too cumbersome to always have to ask admins "can you please edit that post of mine, replacing XX with YY" etc.Dhammarakkhito wrote: ↑Tue Apr 17, 2018 8:09 am well, at some point i would like to have those posts edited, they are only a few. and i hope that i will be given the chance to submit the proper texts and images instead of them just deleting the portions of the posts
But if it's just a few posts, and you have them prepared complete for copy-pasting with all the included links and image urls etc., I guess that would not be asking too much.
I think really cool to have for such purposes would be some possiblility to mark a thread as "blog" or "moderated by thread creator". So that one could start a thread that would be "one's own", and that's somehow visible as such, and the thread-starter would have the access to edit and update every of his own posts in it indefinitely.
Re. images from facebook: I think it's not possible to include them by a simple [img ]{{url}}[/ img] reference, because Facebook (like many other sites) does not allow linking to their images directly (I think) from other websites (except by using their "embed" thingie, which, has we see, does not work for everyone). So in that case one would have to upload them again here as an attachment to include them in a forum post, or host them somewhere that could be publically linked to.
Re: retro, here
Some very helpful suggestions, perkele.
The best thing to do would be:
a) send a request for edits via PM to several members of the staff, or use the "report" button [!] to "report" your post - that will be seen by all the moderators.
b) request a reasonable amount of edits at any given time.
