Discussion of ordination, the Vinaya and monastic life. How and where to ordain? Bhikkhuni ordination etc.

Thanks Zom
What about all the nuns underwent full ordination under Ajahn Braham?
My understanding is now there are validly ordained nuns.

It seems the full ordination is not accepted under one man? It is really a matter of the Sangha.

Why only one man?
There are many male monks with AB.

just a friendly reminder that it's spelled 'bhikkhunī' with diacritic over the second i

As far as I remember, they were ordained just by 4 bhikkhus on the (taken out of context) Vinaya statement spoken by the Buddha: "Monks, I allow you to ordain women" (or close to that). Famous thai scholar Ven. Payutto explains that this phrase Buddha used only once in particular circumstances - when 500 women, followers of Maha Pajapati Gotami, needed to be ordained (this happened just right after he allowed Maha Pajapati Gotami to become a bhikkhuni). After monks ordained all these women, Buddha established general (overriding) rule: from now on 4 bhikkhus + 4 bhukkhunis are needed. This is how bhikkhuni sangha lived on since then.
My understanding is now there are validly ordained nuns.
I have an opposite opinion.
