Greetings
Greetings
A quick line or two to say hello. I’m Derek, it’s my 55th birthday, and it has been a pleasant and gentle one. Certain practises are decades-long for me, others relatively newer. I hope to use DW to both broaden and to deepen my practise and to try and reduce the sense of isolation I can sometimes feel as I mostly practise alone. However I attend a weekly sitting group most weeks and occasionally visit one of the Forest Sangha monasteries here in England. I was at Amaravati last week but found it overwhelmingly busy and it scattered my thoughts far too much (Kathina festival yesterday). Metta.

Welcome to DW. Theravada in the UK seems instutionalized, Wat Pah Nanachat in Thailand would be worth a visit to get a broader perspective.

Welcome and happy birthday!
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.
