You are welcome. Speaking for Ben and me, it has been a long haul, sometimes very much annoyingly so, but more often rewarding, fun, heartening, and worth it in the time and effort we have been able to give in service of the Dhamma and help make a place where we all can meet, discuss, argue, learn, and hopefully grow.Thisperson wrote:Thanks for all making this forum work!

Welcome back, Paul, and a big Thank You to Ben and tilt for their service here.
As someone said earlier, it's an often-thankless role but it's a great service to the community and I, like others, do appreciate your work.

Haha I think I would've done this at least once personally.tiltbillings wrote:You are welcome. Ben and tiltbillings will be greatly missed by me. In my opinion they have done a great job over the years and it is a great shame that they will no longer be taking part in the looking after of this forum.

Re: Welcome back to Paul (retro)
exellent place, - hats off for all!
If you didn't care
What happened to me
And I didn't care for you
We would zig-zag our way
Through the boredom and pain
Occasionally glancing up through the rain
Wondering which of the
Buggers to blame
And watching for pigs on the wing

They certainly will be missed. Their departure is a great loss for the forum.Mr Man wrote:Ben and tiltbillings will be greatly missed by me. In my opinion they have done a great job over the years and it is a great shame that they will no longer be taking part in the looking after of this forum.
To avoid all evil, to cultivate good, and to cleanse one's mind — this is the teaching of the Buddhas.

Thank you all for taking care of DW and keeping it a nice place
For those who want to investigate "higher dhamma" (witch is phenomenological dhamma): link
For those who want to investigate it further: link
Understanding will not come while reading. It will come while lying on the coach and thinking, actively trying to understand it. The same way a mechanic understands how an engine works, the same way one will understand higher dhamma.

Blog, Suttas, Aj Chah, Facebook.
He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.
John Stuart Mill

Tilt, I want to thank you so much for all the work that you did here over the years. It couldn't have been easy. That you managed to keep your wit within all of this craziness says a lot about you. Ben, likewise, has always been a favorite of mine from E-Sangha days. In fact, I followed him here to ask a question of him when he was no longer spending much time at E-Sangha.tiltbillings wrote:You are welcome. Thank you for the kind words. Your presence here has always been a good thing. I forwarded this to Ben, who will no longer be posting here.sattva wrote: Tilt, I want to thank you so much for all the work that you did here over the years. It couldn't have been easy.
