pakow greets you, good forum

Post by Pakow Chris »

Hi,

This forum has the ability to inspire and lift ones spirit. Thanks alot!

I'm a pakow (white clothed anagarika) from Norway living on 8 precepts in a forest monastery in Northern Thailand. Been doing so for the last seven months and my aspiration is to become a monk (in due time).

The Abbot here is very "modern" and lets me use smart phone to be connected to the net (of course not for the purpose of entertaining my kilesas (too much)).

You are a real resource! Thanks once again.

Pakow Chris:

From one anagarika to another, welcome, and I hope this forum I beneficial for you, as it has been for myself and many others. If you're in Northern Thailand, and perhaps near Fang, Chiang Mai region, we can meet up and say hello at Wat Sriboonruang or nearby. I live in the states but visit my "home Wat" as often as I can. I amglad you chose northern Thaland...so much beauty and many good Wats with good Bhikkhus and Bhikkhunis.

Welcome!

:anjali:
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

Cheers venerable and dhamma dudes! I believe Kåre, the Norwegian Pali expert, is contributing quite a lot on this board, yes.

@anagarika: that might well be an excellent way of getting to see more of the many beautiful monasteries around in this great region. PM me next time you're coming to thailand!
