Prison retreat
Prison retreat
A group of us are trying to set up a "Dhamma Brothers" style retreat in Auburn Prison, NY. If anyone here has any experience with prison retreats, particularly how to sell them to prison authorities, I'd be grateful to hear from you.
Re: Prison retreat
Perhaps try contacting the Dhamma Brothers project directly for any questions on getting started:

Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

Re: Prison retreat
The many years of experience of Ajahn Khemadhammo in the UK may be of some help in how to go about it.

The organization upon which "The Dhamma Brothers" is based can be found here:
http://www.prison.dhamma.org
Instead of reinventing the wheel, it might be useful to contact them and see if they have any interest/ resources in approaching the NY prison system.
