Lava World Baffles Astronomers
"He, the Blessed One, is indeed the Noble Lord, the Perfectly Enlightened One;
He is impeccable in conduct and understanding, the Serene One, the Knower of the Worlds;
He trains perfectly those who wish to be trained; he is Teacher of gods and men; he is Awake and Holy. "

"The Dhamma is well-expounded by the Blessed One,
Apparent here and now, timeless, encouraging investigation,
Leading to liberation, to be experienced individually by the wise. "

Re: Lava World Baffles Astronomers
maybe a hell realm planet??
Re: Lava World Baffles Astronomers
The article seems confused. First:
But perhaps something was lost or added in the press release for some pizazz. Here is another article with a bit more depth on the process of investigation, but no mention of the lack of knowing how it formed.
Then:"It couldn't have formed in place because you can't form a planet inside a star. It couldn't have formed further out and migrated inward, because it would have migrated all the way into the star. This planet is an enigma," explains Sasselov.
It seems we're simply observing it as it slowly spirals into its star, but before it's arrived. What's enigmatic - the happenstance of the timing of the observation?Kepler-78b is a doomed world. Gravitational tides will draw it even closer to its star. Eventually it will move so close that the star's gravity will rip the world apart. Theorists predict that Kepler-78b will vanish within three billion years.

No. They simply file it under "outdated primitive theories," along with the heliocentric theories accepted in Europe until Renaissance times.Bhikkhu Pesala wrote:Buddhist Cosmology Baffles Astronomers too, I should think.

Well, it's interesting that the Brahmanical and Buddhist theory of a multiverse preceded western theorists by several thousands of years.Kim OHara wrote:No. They simply file it under "outdated primitive theories," along with the heliocentric theories accepted in Europe until Renaissance times.Bhikkhu Pesala wrote:Buddhist Cosmology Baffles Astronomers too, I should think.

Kind regards,

“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”

loud gush the streamlets,

Kind regards,
Ben.
If we continue along these lines we're mixing modern science with ancient thought which made no distinction between religion and science. I don't think it is fair to either of them and I don't think it can lead us anywhere useful.
Can we get back to the topic, which was astronomy?
