Greetings!

Post by cookiemonster » Sat Oct 12, 2013 4:54 am

Hello everyone!

I just signed up to Dhammawheel, and I'm excited to learn from all of you!

Religiously, I practice a form of Messianic Judaism, but I've been learning about Theravada Buddhism and reading selections from the Nikayas lately, so I thought I'd join :)

Thank you.

Greetings and welcome to Dhamma Wheel!
“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”
- Cormac McCarthy, The Road

Learn this from the waters:
in mountain clefts and chasms,
loud gush the streamlets,
but great rivers flow silently.

Shalom,

Nice username. I was a cookie monster myself for years and made chocolate chip cookies with my kids every Friday when they were young. Now me have more self-control.

Thank you for your welcome, David!

As much as I love cookies, I have to stay away from most, because of a recently discovered gluten intolerance ... I see it as a chance to develop more self control
