Hi Everyone,

I'm from Pennsylvania (USA), just outside of Philadelphia. I am 47 years old, a recovering catholic (Agnostic).... I have been lost for sometime, and wanting very badly to find my inner most self. I have always been interested in the Buddhist "religion", and just recently out of nowhere saw a picture on my Facebook news feed that said, when you are ready, your teacher will present him/herself. Funny thing, I have a new neighbor that moved in just a few days prior, and one day I we saw each other and started to talk..... He is a Zen Buddhist! This was my sign, and now I am actively learning (practicing) Buddhism. I am excited, and I hope to glean a lot from this group. :thanks:

Well met, Mark,

Interesting how life throws such happenstances our way. Maybe it is a sign, maybe not, but you are welcome here all the same.

You may also find our sister site www.dharmawheel.net helpful, the community more geared toward the the Mahayana (including Zen) facet of Buddhist practice.

Of course, I'm sure there is plenty for you to learn here too so don't be shy. :)

Be well, friend!
