Greetings

Post by FairyFeller »

Hello

Ths is just a short note to say 'Hi'.

I'm new to the forum and relatively new to forums in general please forgive my bad netiquette from time to time.

I'm also fairly new to Buddhism, I keep buying interesting sounding books that end up telling what Buddhism is and I'm having trouble finding something that might guide me towards becoming a Buddhist.

I find myself very drawn to the Theravada path as it makes so much sense, almost as if I have been this way before as it is very similar to how I have chosen to live my life. There don't appear to be any other practitioners in the area that I live and there is no Sangha to be found other than a monastery a two hour drive away, the monks seem very nice but it's not exactly the sort of pace I can turn to for everyday advice.

Hi FairyFeller, and welcome.

I offer the 'Access to Insight' link as a possible starting point for you, if you wish. On the right hand side there is a link that says "Quick guide / Beginnings..." You might find that helpful. The site also contains a vast amount of other material, it's the main resource I use myself actually, and has helped me immensely.

kind regards, manas :anjali:
