How to chant?

Post by unspoken »

I would like to chant in my house everyday, however I'm not always present in the temple and not always there to chant along with the others. So I would like to ask what passage I should chant every morning or every evening. Is there any chanting that needed to be done in order?

Hope you can link me some pdf file online so i can download and print it. Thank you!

Hi unspoken,

I think this one is nice - the chanting book from Amaravati monastery in the UK.

http://www.amaravati.org/documents/ABM_ ... k_2006.pdf

It clearly indicates the morning chants, and has helpful notes on pronunciation. If you go onto their website you can also find links to audio files so you can hear what you should be sounding like!

My advice would be to choose something you like to chant, rather than follow a formula.

I have used a lot of materials shared by Metta Forest Monastery in California:

I'll have to check out the page from Amaravati monastery. :) Thank you!
