I am happy to inform that Ven. Pannobhasa's translation of Atthakkavaga is now available as PDF of Path Press website.
From the Preface:
The Aṭṭhakavagga is the fourth chapter of an ancient collection of Buddhist scriptures known as the Sutta Nipāta. Although it is only a single chapter of a larger work, there is good evidence suggesting that the Aṭṭhakavagga existed in its own right prior to the compilation of the Sutta Nipāta, and that it was much better known and more influential in ancient times than it is today. This lapse into relative obscurity is unfortunate, as the Aṭṭhakavagga contains invaluable information for anyone wishing to better understand the earliest teachings of Buddhism, and also for anyone seeking the way of wisdom.
The experts do not say that one is a sage in this world because of view, or learning, or knowledge, Nanda.
I call them sages who wander without association, without affliction, without desire.
The Buddha, Sn.V.8.2 (1078)

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …

He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form. John Stuart Mill
If anybody knows various options how to print the book for free distribution, please do let me know.

If any layman here likes to suggest it the team of budhaedu.org, it would be an "easy" way. All they like to have is a letter of a acknowledged referee Bhikkhu that this book is worth to print in matters of Dhamma Dana.
In general, I guess its quite enough to let it be without copyright, so the rest will come by it self.

Hi Bhante,
You could always try http://www.Lulu.com as it has the option of people paying for the printing themselves, if they want it in print, you just need to decide what format the book should be in!
although have you thought of talking to Ajahn Tim about how his Book was printed? maybe finding out how much it would be to get printed and the other steps involved would be possible, or even contacting Amaravati/Harnham and asking about the group who sponsored the publications?

I guess its more about giving laypeople the possibility to make more out of it. Its not so proper for a Bhikkhu to take care of such things.
I am sorry Hanzze bhante is looking for various options these are options. http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/sujato" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thank you for your suggestions. At Path Press we already considered these options. Our idea is to print for free distribution and make them available in the monasteries around the world. (Also I will enquire with FS Sangha for printing.) Even Path Press could in theory print the book if it had enough donation.
Monks are actually already involved in Dhamma publications. It is quite common nowadays. But money issues are depended on the generosity of laity.

Hi Bhante,
Has there been a though about using both the freely available hard copy and print on demand service?
would be handy for those who are unable to get a copy when they want it (due to lack of availability....
