Tipitaka on an Android phone

Post by Kare » Mon Apr 04, 2011 8:35 am

You can have the whole Tipitaka in Pali or in Thai on an Android phone:

https://market.android.com/details?id=c ... rch_result" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Still struggling a little with the menus, though.

On the topic, here are some other useful apps for Android

PED, CPED, CEPD, and DPPN:

Dhammapada in English and Pali:

I just rooted a Nook touch (to run android).
This is the only android device I have, when I created an account on android market, it won't let me download the Pali dictionary because i don't have an android device registered through my google account. is it possible to just download the dictionary app from somewhere and put it on the nook via the micro SD card?

There is now a Roman-script Android Tipitaka on Google Play, complete with dictionaries and even ability to view the AccessToInsight archive:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... taka&hl=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've also added the apk file to GitHub, so to install on Nook for example, you can just download this file:

https://github.com/yuttadhammo/E-Tipita ... elease.apk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
