Fantastic! :hello:

We should probably assemble a collection of mobi books as well for our Kindle using friends.

Yeah, I can't repeat my previous success either, it won't do it. I don't know enough about Calibre to work around the problem, unfortunately.

Hi to all,
I have converted the biography of Ajahn Mun written by Ajahn Boowa from Acrobat PDF to Microsoft Word.
(source: http://www.luangta.com/English/site/book8_biomun.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
I'm not an expert about Calibre software: I hope that some user of this forum can convert the .doc file in the epub format!
Note: the file .doc attached does not contain the photos of the original book.

Regards,
Roberto

What, Sir, is the cause & the reason why in bygone days there were fewer rules of conduct & more Arahats, whereas nowadays there are more rules & fewer Arahats?

Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.

These are all so great. Thank you all very much for posting these links to books. I got an ereader recently and I have been adding files to it. Some of the larger collections are really appreciated (Collected Writings of Ajahn Chah for instance as well as the Sutta Pitaka).

There is also this other thread that I don't think has been mentioned here...

There is also this page, mentioned quite a bit in the other thread. It is just sutta books:
http://readingfaithfully.org/book-sourc ... bi-kindle/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
| One sutta per day to your inbox | ReadingFaithfully.org Support for reading the Suttas | Citation lookup helper | Instant sutta name lookup | Instant PED lookup | Instant DPPN lookup |

If you have an iPhone or iPad, there is a free Access to Insight app (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/access-t ... 25338?mt=8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), which is essentially the entire website wrapped in an application. So with this, you can have all the texts, with the links from the site, in your pocket. It's not the latest version of the site - the current version is 2010.08.23, not the 2009 date shown in the screenshots on the iTunes Store - but I'm sure that's good enough for most people.

You can add bookmarks to specific pages, but you can't search. You also can't change the font size, which isn't an issue on the iPad, where it's bigger, but for me, on an iPhone, the font is a bit small.

But it's free, and it's pretty much the entire site.

I have made the "access to insight" website into a epub file. It turns out to be a large file, 36,42M, and not all links are working, but it might be interesting.

I hope it is of use for someone.
