Greetings to All.

Post by Ordinaryperson »

Greetings to All,

I have just arrived at this website through thornbush from another site so pop in to say hello to everyone.

I only found this site when I started to wonder where Bhante Dhammanando has gone so asked around and here I am.

I am pleased to see many familiar names around so I am going to hang around to learn.

A quick intro, I belong to Theravada Buddhism and our linkage to Theravada Buddhism (father side) stretches back a very very long time but my knowledge is limited only to what I have been taught by my father so I can only talk about experience I know.

Will upload my avatar later ...

I don't believe there is any such thing as an "Ordinary person"..... all are extraordinary, in their own, unique, 'not-self' kind of way..... ;)

Welcome
Blog, Suttas, Aj Chah, Facebook.

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.

Thanks all for the welcome everyone.

Nice website Retro.

I have been very busy for a while now (doing this :reading: for work ... ) so was unable to do the things I like and only managed to occasionally drop by the other site. The other site is good too so I guess I will be visiting both whenever I can.

I will continue to be very busy until at least August 09 as I need to jump over the final hurdle ( well ... second last major hurdle) in my life, but I will try to read as much if not to learn as much as I can while visiting Dhamma Wheel and the other site.

Anyway, glad that I find everyone here again.
