Jewerly
Jewerly
I have always liked to keep something one me at all times as a reminder. I used to wear a cross on my dog tags everywhere I went, though for the past year or so I have had nothing. I have read before that some believe it to be rude/disrespectful to wear something with Buddha on it as it may become dirty. So I ask if anyone here wears anything or perhaps knows more about this subject than I do.
Re: Jewerly
Jewerly ? Is that bling worn by Hebrew people ?
Re: Jewerly
Well when I say jewerly, I would consider anything other than clothing or footwear jewerly. My dog tags I would consider jewelry.
Re: Jewerly
I am joking Densotoke...I think you mean JEWELLERY. There is no rule concerning jewellery in Buddhism unless you are a nun or monk. I know a lot of people who respect the Buddha and who wear small medallions showing the Buddha, around their necks.
Re: Jewerly
Jewelry is the American spelling.
Re: Jewerly
So, not jewerly ? Thats a shame i rather liked jewerly.
Re: Jewerly
Ah, now I see I misspelled it. Seem my mind is faster than my fingers.
Re: Jewerly
You anp em both Densetoko...seriously I dont think wearing a Buddhist medallion would pose a problem for anyone. In Thailand there is a whole industry making them.
Re: Jewerly
Like PeterB says....there's an entire indutstry making them in Thailand and you see people wearing them all the time. The image is usually enclosed in a small glass or clear plastic enclosure I guess to keep it clean....they are worn on a chain around the neck (your neck, not the Buddha's neck!!!)
