Do I carry muñja grass?
I spit on my life.
Death in battle would be better for me
than that I, defeated,
survive.

3. Muñja grass was the ancient Indian equivalent of a white flag. A warrior expecting that he might have to surrender would take muñja grass into battle with him. If he did surrender, he would lie down with the muñja grass in his mouth. The Buddha, in asking this rhetorical question, is indicating that he is not the type of warrior who would carry muñja grass. If defeated, he would rather die than surrender.

Good morning,

I just woke up... Have we been through forum bardo yet?

:geek:

Metta,
Paul. :)

We're in the bardo right now. :spy:

Apparently the webhoster and webmaster are making this a very painless and seamless process, so far. Perhaps there might be no down time . . .

We'll see in the next few hours if this is a bardo style transfer or an Abhidhamma style (instant) one.

edit: It took much longer than expected due to webhosting company delays. At least posts have been restored that were made between the back-up date and when the server went down for the move.

So far, so good.

It might be down for another short time a little later today for some more maintenance, but hopefully very short time, but we are now at the new server.

Was able to read and reply to an old PM, plus posting here suggests all is almost well!

My time is way off also, some 10 hours or so. It will be cleared up in... time.
