Global moderator: robertk

Postby retrofuturist » Sat Jul 23, 2016 4:10 am

Greetings all,

After having served here for years, keeping the old "Mahavihara" section of the forum in good order, I'm pleased to announce that robertk has accepted our invitation to be a "Global moderator".

This change means he will now also be keeping an eye on the remainder of the forum too, helping facilitate quality Dhamma discussion in line with the Terms of Service, and assisting members with any issues that may arise.

Please join me in congratulating Robert on this well-deserved appointment.

Metta,
Paul. :)

Yes. I hope I can do as well as the rest of the mods. I know how much time you all spend keeping the site running.

Congratulations! Thank you for taking this responsability. And thank you to all previous moderators who have taken this responsability.
He turns his mind away from those phenomena, and having done so, inclines his mind to the property of deathlessness: 'This is peace, this is exquisite — the resolution of all fabrications; the relinquishment of all acquisitions; the ending of craving; dispassion; cessation; Unbinding.'
(Jhana Sutta - Thanissaro Bhikkhu translation)

Congratulations!
To avoid all evil, to cultivate good, and to cleanse one's mind — this is the teaching of the Buddhas.

Congratulations
Blog, Suttas, Aj Chah, Facebook.

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.
John Stuart Mill
