Today is Mothers Day

Post by DooDoot » Sun May 13, 2018 2:55 am

Recent posts on this forum embracing violent & repressive Saudi Arabian Wahhabism and supporting billons of dollars of weapons sales to the Saudi Arabian Terror State promoted my mind to recollect the past life of my mother in the old country, which the Saudi Arabians want to destroy.

My mother was a good sort. Dhamma Citta was brought forth from her womb.

All tremble at violence; all fear death. Putting oneself in the place of another, one should not kill nor cause another to kill
And the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus, saying: "Behold now, bhikkhus, I exhort you: All compounded things are subject to vanish. Strive with earnestness!"

This was the last word of the Tathagata.

A lay follower should not engage in five types of business. Which five? Business in weapons, business in human beings, business in meat, business in intoxicants and business in poison.

It's good to recall one's mother with affection and gratitude. I might be missing something here, but I can't quite see the link with Middle Eastern politics. Esecially in the "Personal Experience" section. Does part of the post need moving to the Politics section?

Wait, are you the lady in your profile photo? It's kinda rare that people use their actual photos. Also, you mom was beautiful.

Thank you kindly. My mom is a very good & kind hearted lady but vanity she does not lack. Don't tell her, please. 80th birthday, last year.

We certainly missing something when we completely divorce humanity from politics. I thought to start a politics thread with a human face to assist overcome the political voyeurism. That human face I chose is the face of my mother. My mother is one of ten children, of which seven had families in a country Saudi Arabia, Israel & Donald Trump wish to harm, for no reason at all (apart from political hegemony).
