Wirathu silenced by Myanmar's top Buddhist body

I've not been following these issues very closely. But now that he's been banned from speaking, for only a year, I wonder what his followers will do. I wonder what this will accomplish.

I'm interested in hearing the thoughts of those with more knowledge of what's going on.

EDIT: Ah, the links is right now. Did I do that, or someone else? Thanks, mysterious, and possibly non-existent, stranger!

Govt Bans U Wirathu from Preaching Sermons

Thai media also noticed this ban, just a few days after U Wirathu publicly supported Dhammakaya whose leader is similarly being banned:

 Work of the same guy doing all those photoshopped Dhammakaya pics, I suppose (?)

Must say his public support for Wat Dhammakaya and Dhammachayo did some good. It's the first time I'm glad he voiced his opinion.
