I have experienced the jhanas, if you are just starting I guess the first jhana is relevant to you, the star of the first jhana is the feeling of extasis, is a strong distinct feeling that resembles a strong orgasm, maybe is about 3 times stronger than an ordinary orgasm, check Bhante Vimalaramsis instructions on how to achieve it.

You should be aware that there are a considerable number of experiences that go under the name jhana. Here's a link to a web series that starts with the author's interpretation of what one should call jhana. It then proceeds to describe various different versions of jhana and compare them to each other.
