Benefits of fasting

Post by TRobinson465 »

Interesting news on the health benefits of fasting for 12-18 hour periods. Perhaps this is the health benefit the Buddha was talking about when he advised to not eat after midday?

The benefits of fasting have been known for thousands of years. It's just recently that modern scientists are researching it and giving complex explanations—and saying they discovered these things. They are doing exactly the same thing with meditation.

For most scientists, fMRI scans and blood work, obtained using complex machinery, are forms of empirical evidence—but sadly for them, doing something and seeing it for yourself isn't as convincing.
