Kamma hurting arahant or parents

Post by Klklklklnmnmnmnm » Mon Feb 13, 2017 3:27 pm

Hello. The bad kamma when you kill an arahant or one of your parents send you to hell. But what happens when you hurt an arahant? Is this difficult obsticle to attain ninanna? Thank you.

If you injure an arahant to the point of drawing blood, then one cannot be a sotapanna (stream entrant).
He understands that it is impossible, there is no chance, that an individual attained to right view,
would deprive an arhat of life
—this is not possible.
And he understands that it is possible, there is the chance, that an ordinary worldling, would deprive
an arhat of life—this is possible.

David, it doesn't look like your statement is supported by the quote. Drawing blood from an arahant does not imply killing an arahant or drawing blood from a Tathagata.

You're right, I think it is just for a samma-sam-buddha unless there is some other quote in the Canon about injuring an arahant.

How about hurting or killing a "lower" ariya? a sotapanna, for example. Any guess?

But once, due to anger, she referred to a fully liberated senior nun as a prostitute. As a result of that wrong speech, she was reborn in one of the lower realms, for to say or do anything wrong to an Ariya creates worse kamma than to say or do the same thing against a non-Ariya.

When the fruit of that bad deed was mostly used up, as a residual effect she herself became a prostitute in her final life. By this time her previous good kamma was the stronger and she ordained as a nun.

That is Nibbana, not Ninanna.
