over the past few months i have been attending councelling and Narcotics Anonymous as part of my recovery for drug addiction .
Studying the Dhamma and meditating have become a regular part of my daily life.
i have become aware recently of Buddhist orientated groups that help people with keeping the 5th Precept and aiding people struggling with addictions in their recovery. these groups are based on mindfullness and metta as taught by the Buddha
as i was unaware of these facilities i am just posting the information here for the benifit of people who may be seeking an alternative to 'traditional' recovery methods and who maay be uncomfortable with certain aspects of them

Hungry Ghosts/ Addiction Treatment
Aflame with the fire of passion, the fire of aversion, the fire of delusion.
Aflame, with birth, aging & death, with sorrows, lamentations, pains, distresses, & despairs ......
Seeing thus, the disciple of the Noble One grows disenchanted. SN 35.28

Re: Hungry Ghosts/ Addiction Treatment
Thanks for posting I just celebrated 9 months of sobriety they AA and NA.
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.
