Self-massage allowed when on eight precepts?

Postby oak1 » Fri Aug 11, 2017 3:33 pm

Dear all,

Comming week I'll be off to stay at a monastery for some time. I was wondering whether is allowed to do self-massage when on eight precepts. I usually make use of a tennis ball in the process to be able to get to areas that are hard to reach with the arms.

Best wishes

I don't see why not. I imagine the self-massage is not to make the skin beautiful but is to relieve pain or for some other therapeutical purpose.
