Luang Por Sumedho in India ; inauguration of Aranya Vihara Trust City Centre

Post by arpansharma1 »

Dear friends, Aranya Vihara Trust (https://aranyaviharatrust.wordpress.com/ ) was set up to bring to the land of its origin, the pristine teachings of the Buddha as practiced by the Thai forest tradition in the lineage of Ajahn Chah. Our long term objective is to set up a monastery in India so that we can have the opportunity of learning from the revered monks and receive their blessings.
The Elders in Thailand suggested that as a first step in this direction we need to set up a City Centre in New Delhi where monks could visit periodically. These visits would strengthen the lay person’s Sangha that can support such a monastery.
A trustee has graciously offered space for this purpose in the heart of Delhi, near the Dwarka Sector 11 metro station and all efforts are being done to complete the work by June 2018 .
We have great joy in informing that the seniormost western disciple of Ajahn Chah, Luang Por Sumedho , has consented to visit India in June in order to bless this centre. Luang Por Sumedho will be accompanied by Ajahn Asoko . This offers us all a unique opportunity for meditation, chanting , Dana and to receive his teachings.
