Hello Everyone,

Please find a list of books I have personally bought and read to my kids. Please feel free to add your own below:

The Great Buddhist Stories: Omnibus http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/9812618945 - Ven Dhammika compiled and edited these stories. Excellent work but a little sophisticated for younger kids (Ages 4 and up)

Buddha at Bedtime: Tales of Love and Wisdom for You to Read with Your Child to Enchant, Enlighten and Inspire http://www.amazon.com/dp/1844836231/?ta ... df6qp6ub_e - Written by someone practicing in the FWBO/Triratna Sangha; all in all good book with pretty illustrations and good for younger kids (3 and Up)

Buddha http://www.amazon.com/Buddha-Demi/dp/08 ... 283&sr=8-1 - Demi - Beautiful illustrations but with a Mahayana flavor. Good for young ones. (Ages 3 and Up)

Jataka Tales: True Friends (Amar Chitra Katha)http://www.amazon.com/Jataka-Tales-Frie ... 29&sr=1-13 Great book with cool comic book illustrations better for older kids (4 and Up)

Browsing onwards from Cooran's link got me to http://www.amazon.com/Buddha-1-Kapilava ... 29_russss0
which I (obviously) haven't read but which looks good for slightly older children.

Samsara Dog - by Helen Manos

''For we are all travelers on the wheel of life.
We halt, we pause and take new births.

Samsara Dog lived many lives.
Some of his lives were long.
Some lasted only a few days.
Dog never remembered them.
He lived each life as it came,
until he learned the most
important lesson of all.

Based on Buddhist concepts of Samsara and Nirvana, this moving story about love and life, death and dying, will touch every reader.''

This book is not so much a book for children, but for parents. From a "quick flick" It looks excellent and was used to plan activities on a family-friendly retreat I just came back from:

Planting Seeds: Practicing Mindfulness with Children
Thich Nhat Hanh

You can read bits of it here:
