Hello friends,
I am looking for a meditation center to recommend to a friend who lives in Mexico City. My friend is not a Buddhist, but is interested in meditation.
I checked the World Buddhist Directory and found this: http://vipassana.com.mx/, but I don't speak any Spanish so am not sure if it refers to a meditation center or a retreat center (or both), and I don't know how active it might be.
It seems like they have sits every Tuesday evening, and occasional events here and there such as short retreats.
I was wondering if the above was accurate, and if there is a place that one of you could recommend.
Thanks!

Re: Meditation center in Mexico City?
If you are looking for a Buddhist meditation center, there are many traditions represented on http://www.buddhanet.info/wbd/province. ... nce_id=453 and http://iriz.hanazono.ac.jp/zen_centers/ ... mexico.htm for generic listings. There are small groups of various traditions in Mexico City like https://beingwithoutself.org/groups/: (some of whose members I know and can recommend). Contacting any of them would probably get much more current listings of the various traditions. People are usually quite happy to steer people towards different Buddhist traditions if that is what your friend is interested in.
If you are looking for a specific Theravada tradition on the web, type in Theravada (or the name of the specific Theravada tradition) and Mexico City and there are quite a few results, which you could then probably check out here, but I personally don't know them.
Good luck!
