The path to the 6 th precept

Post by MissGredelin »

Ok.. one more try with the 6 th precept. I will do it in steps this time

Step number one: Get into ketosis with as little effort as possible.

Step number two: Try not eating in the afternoon.

Ketosis=the brain can function on two kind of energy reservs, either glucos (etc carbs) or keton bodies created by fat. This is often the result of fasting and especially when you eat the ratio of 70% fat, 20% protein and 10% carbs.

I think this is a question for your GP. Advice on the Internet might not be applicable to your case.

Does your doctor recommend porridge oats as a source of carbs instead of wheat-based products?

My GP is fine with it. A little bit of grain should be ok. You can not be to strict with yourself.

16. 'In what has the world originated?' — so said the Yakkha Hemavata, — 'with what is the world intimate? by what is the world afflicted, after having grasped at what?' (167)

17. 'In six the world has originated, O Hemavata,' — so said Bhagavat, — 'with six it is intimate, by six the world is afflicted, after having grasped at six.' (168)
