“Dhamma to Inspire” : The Buddha’s Words for Monastics(And aspiring ones)

Post by Bhikkhu_Jayasara »

For the past few years I have been working on my goal to read through all the nikayas cover to cover. As I’ve read I have been copy/pasting hundreds of lines from the nikayas into a google keep compendium of dozens of dhamma topics.

One that I created were for selections I felt would be important for inspiration and reminders on the monastic path. I read through these every once in a while to remind myself what I’m doing and why. So that is what this series will be, simply randomly selected passages from the Nikayas related to monasticism and the proper way monastics should act.

This will be at least 6 volumes(thats how much I have saved up) of quotes, I will post all of the volumes in this one thread to not spam

Though intended for monastics, this excellent collection is very inspirational for lay persons as well.

I have this on my wall, its extremely valuable, because it's amazing how often you can forget your a monastic, at least thats been my experience in these early days, I remind myself every day.
