The Ajahn slowly,
His alms bowl a part of him.
Sticky rice, eyes down.

In the trees, tractor.
From the rusty driving seat
Serene Rupa glimpsed.

Thinking about lunch
Seven white robed novice monks.
Eleven Thirty.

Ananda rebuked
Contemplates his faults alone
Strives to do better

Hoarfrost spikes
have sprung out overnight
like the hairs on my chin

Awakened at midnight
by the sound of the water jar
cracking from the ice

A pattering of rain
on the new eaves
brings me awake

The skylark:
Its voice alone fell,
Leaving nothing behind

The silence;
The voice of the cicadas
Penetrates the rocks.

Did not ask Buddha
Minor rules, from major rules
Now stuck with them all

Sages threw flowers
through centuries and eons
raining on you now

Moon rising, I sit.
Contemplate...Sun is rising.
Time to 'chop water'.

The lonely cushion
Or the lovely, tempting world
Nibbana awaits.

Four ennobling truths,
Eightfold path, the Way is One:
Bright star of morning.

Thank you all for your wonderful contributions.

I might take this opportunity to provide a translation, provided by Ajahn Dhammanando, of the verse in my signature. Technically, not a haiku:

I see the gathering of followers:
Putting forth effort, self controlled,
Always with strong resolution
—This is how to honor the Buddhas!
