I hope it's okay to resurrect this thread a bit, but here's my home shrine. Nothing much, a few nice personal objects.

The top poster and the small laminated card are from a Pure Land group that offered Buddhist resources through the mail for free, which I ordered more than a decade ago. The two black and white pieces of paper are from the An Hy Quan Vegetarian Restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They offered those posters on their way out the door after a tasty meal. The middle Buddha image came from somewhere! I don't recall where.

The altar itself is a milk crate covered in a cloth given by a friend. The incense holder is a standing Buddha, the candle holder was a gift from a close friend, and the shell holding the flowers was a gift from my partner. Many pleasant memories and ideas to reflect on, even though most of the time I spend facing it I'm not "looking" at it per se.

Absolutely! I really like this topic, seeing other people's ideas. You have motivated me to update my shrine. :namaste:

A window sill shrine with a newly acquired brass statue, a lotus origami that I got from my sister some years ago, a scented candle + black carton background for a pleasant low key view/contrast.

It's a small shrine in the corner of my living room. Which I separated from the rest of the room with a large sheet hanging from the roof.
Just enough space for my zafu and zabuton

Very inspirational thread.
I'm moving house in a couple of months and then I will set up a more permanent shrine. Will share a pic here, hopefully. :)

My altar at work, which is a mishmash of styles for two reasons. 1) I find they are a good talking point for students (I am a teacher in school). 2) I find them aesthetically pleasing.

My altar at home, if it can be so called, is simply a single buddharupa on the top shelf of my bookshelf.

It's pretty simple, but here's mine:

"If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?"

My altar are pictures on my desktop.

This is the Buddha newly awaken at a beautiful bank of Neranjara river:

This is the Buddha and the Sangha at a Uposatha recitation meeting:

This is the meeting of 500 arahants at the first council:

"Then the Teacher, being sympathetic, and having compassion for the whole world,
said to me, “Come, monk!” That was my ordination.
Staying alone in the wilderness, meditating tirelessly,
I have completed what the Teacher taught, just as the victor advised me.

In the first watch of the night, I recollected my past lives.
In the middle watch of the night, I purified my clairvoyance.
In the last watch of the night, I shattered the mass of darkness."
