Dear Members,
This Thursday, I would like to take you all to see the beautiful Wat Arun-Rajavanaram.
This temple is so very close to my girl-junior-high school, every morning while I was boarding on a boat to cross the Chao-Phraya River to my school I would see the sun rising right by the exquisite pagoda of Wat Arun(Arun=dawn/sunrise). My teachers from Sillapakorn Univ(for artists). loved to take us girls to this temple to draw/sketch pictures of trees/flowers/Buddhas/pagoda etc. that we wanted to draw...I loved the 2 beautiful green/white giants here very very much.[/color]

Those days when the Thai king wanted to do big ceremony of the Thai Royal Barge Procession, my school was like the best place to watch right there on the bank of the river. Only once that I was lucky to watch the procession at my school, giggled with my friends/teachers.

(please be patient because the most beautiful royal barges came later)
During weekends, I/my 2 friends loved to row our small individual-boats along the river without life-jackets because we were great swimmers, we always stopped at Wat Arun to rest/lunch. Sometimes we were all wet from heads to toes while sitting at a restaurant, we kept our money in plastic bags and pinned them to our red t-shirts(or money would float away)...funny 12-13yrs old tomboy girls rowed the boats all day...fun fun fun. :
Love Wat Arun/Royal Barge Procession,
yawares
