Can you explain a good definition of Vyāpāda with examples, originally from Theravāda canon?

Ill-will has its source in the unwholesome root of hate (dosa); its manifestations are as a hindrance and a fetter depending on their respective contexts of absorption and enlightenment. Its simile is:

"Imagine a bowl of water, heated on a fire, boiling up and bubbling over. If a man with good eyesight were to look at the reflection of his own face in it, he would not know or see it as it really was…”—-SN 46:55
