4 noble truths and 8 folded path
Re: 4 noble truths and 8 folded path
The Noble Eightfold Path is the way to Awakening. If I want to attain Awakening, that's the road I need to travel.
"Just as a large banyan tree, on level ground where four roads meet, is a haven for the birds all around, even so a lay person of conviction is a haven for many people: monks, nuns, male lay followers, & female lay followers." —AN 5.38
Re: 4 noble truths and 8 folded path
The Four Noble Truths are a summary of the whole dhamma and the fourth, the Eightfold Path, is a road-map for practice. As such, they are fundamental and very important, although how well we manage to follow the Path varies from day to day.
This study guide - https://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/study/truths.html - shows how they work.
