Free Operating System with Pali

Postby researcher123 » Tue Mar 22, 2011 4:47 pm

Om Mani Padme Hum
Hello Dhamma friends
I am trying to create a FREE Open Source Operating System with Pali language. In order to get earlier system translated into Pali proper I need to provide some information as explained here
Whats more important is how zeroes are handled.
Or you may translate the following in Pali
1.I have 3 mangoes
2.I have 2 mangoes
3.I have 1 mango
4.I have 0 mangoes (Kindly note that in English we use the word mangoes and not mango for 0)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I can't offer any help, but I think this is a fascinating project.

A few years ago the government of the People's Republic Of China did something similar. They took the FOSS code for the linux operating system and made it run on Chinese. Their new linux distribution, "Red Flag" is freely available.

Question. Since Pali is a dead language who would use the new operating system?
In reading the scriptures, there are two kinds of mistakes:
One mistake is to cling to the literal text and miss the inner principles.
The second mistake is to recognize the principles but not apply them to your own mind, so that you waste time and just make them into causes of entanglement.
