Correct translation of Ubhatovyanjañaka?

Post by Ceisiwr » Wed Dec 04, 2019 3:38 pm

What is the best translation of “ Ubhatovyanjañaka“? The standard translation is hermaphrodite but Zwilling and Bunmi suggest it has a deeper meaning, that of homosexual or bisexual.

Thoughts and links much appreciated.
The monk who hasn't slipped past or turned back,
knowing with regard to the world
that "All this is unreal,"
sloughs off the near & far shore —
as a snake, its decrepit old skin.
