the former is in standard pali. the latter is how the term appears in the suttas & is not in standard pali but instead reflects the more eastern/magadhan dialect of the buddha, i.e. this particular phrase was preserved in the canon as the buddha actually said it, probably because it is repeated a lot as a sort of slogan
