AN 6.96 includes the Pali 'indriyānaṃ avekallatā' as a "rare thing", which both Bhikkhus Bodhi and Sujato translate as "unimpaired sense faculties".
MN 43 and I think MN 152 to refer to the five sense faculties (indriyāni) of eye, ear, nose, tongue and body.
Yet suttas such as SN 48.10 refer to the five spiritual faculties (indriyāni) of faith, energy, mindfulness, concentration and wisdom.
Should AN 6.96 refer to the five spiritual faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, concentration and wisdom rather than "sense faculties"?

I am not a pali guru . But if i may have a go at this. In the context of AN6.96 it appears to refer to not being blind or deaf or impaired in a bodily sense.
