What is the source of this story?

What is the source of this story?
I heard this story when I was young.
==========
The sailors from a shipwreck landed on an island of cannibals.
The did not kill the sailors straight away but they fed them a lot of food and liquor to fatten them first and kill one by one.
One of the smart sailor realise this and ate only very little food for the survival and became very thin and boney.
So the cannibals did not kill him and let lose him to walk about in the island.
One day he managed to escape the island.

Yes, this tale features in Sinbad:
Fourth Voyage of Sinbad the Sailor
Impelled by restlessness Sinbad takes to the seas again and, as usual, is shipwrecked. The naked savages amongst whom he finds himself feed his companions a herb which robs them of their reason (Burton theorises that this might be bhang), prior to fattening them for the table. Sinbad realises what is happening, and refuses to eat the madness-inducing plant. When the cannibals have lost interest in him, he escapes. A party of itinerant pepper-gatherers transports him to their own island, where their king befriends him and gives him a beautiful and wealthy wife.

It is likely to crop up elsewhere, as the Sinbad tales took lots of ideas from elsewhere.

This reminds of Mara trying to keep us fattening by giving food and try to keep our tie into this Samsara.
Arahat is the wise Sinbad.
