Buddhist Prophecies of the 21st Century and Beyond

Post by Kusala »

"...At that time, the world will be divided between the “barbarian dharma” and Buddhism. The barbarian dharma, about which we can only speculate since it is so far in the future, will then wage a war of final annihilation on the dharma, but its own karma will return upon it and destroy it, resulting in the advent of a planetary dharmic civilization that is identified with the end of the Kali Yuga. "He, the Blessed One, is indeed the Noble Lord, the Perfectly Enlightened One;
He is impeccable in conduct and understanding, the Serene One, the Knower of the Worlds;
He trains perfectly those who wish to be trained; he is Teacher of gods and men; he is Awake and Holy. "

--------------------------------------------
"The Dhamma is well-expounded by the Blessed One,
Apparent here and now, timeless, encouraging investigation,
Leading to liberation, to be experienced individually by the wise. "

“Religion in the Anthropocene”.
https://books.google.com.vn/books?id=-u ... &q&f=false

I'm not recommending this book to read as it's all speculation, but using it as an indication of how people who are forward-looking are well advanced in discussing things in terms of a new axial age, rather than looking back to the past. Part 1, chap. 2 has the interesting title, “From the Anthropocene Epoch to A new Axial Age.” This is actually incorrect as the 2000 year-long Anthropocene will encompass the new axial age.
It doesn't mention Buddhism much which is partisan, as the Buddha was part of the first axial age and Christ wasn't, and the influence of mindfulness on society can hardly be ignored, but then it's not religion.
The Christian belief that god will fix everything is opposed to the Anthropocentric idea that humans are in control of their own destiny, both globally and individually.

The end of the Kali Yuga in 2025

For the past 2,700 years we have been evolving through the ascending Kali Yuga, and this Yuga is coming to an end in 2025.

“At last, the auspicious time for the world's dharma transformation is here.[...] ...arriving in this world at this present (beginning) age, when human beings themselves have fallen entirely for self-serving margas with harmful seductive standards, glimpses of true maitri dharma marga (path) guidance are revealed only bit by bit...”
