It is a noble effort. I hope corrections are welcome. On the the Zen side, for example, is not correct to separate the Caodong line from Linji line. At least one of the Caodong school dharma transmitters was also in the Linji line. Won Buddhism is not in any line at all, but was independently founded and then decided it agreed with Buddhist doctrine.

I posted the map in the Dharma Wheel forum also and people have reported several errors.
I like what Matt J wrote: "As they say: Four buddhists, six opinions."

I don't know if you are the creator of the mind map, but the Thai Forest Tradition is as much Mahānikāya as it is Dhammayutika (Thammayut). And I wouldn't class Dhammakāya as a subdivision of Mahānikāya (more kind of an off-the-track movement of its own).
(And if the religion tree might cause confusion, the Ajahn Chah movement actually came from the Mahānikāya sect—not the Dhammayutika like it is written.)

Nice.
I noticed left side withought countries names.
Zen is Japan and China, yeah?
Mindmaps are fun.
If you have a smartphone, my favorite app is "Mindly" if you dont know about it already. Soon they are going to create some different addons for it.
Its actually a great stress reliever when thoughts are racing.

Mayahaya, and the top few branches originated in India, as did Vajrayana, I think.
My amateur understanding is that the "Zen" label should really use the Chinese name "Chan". It spread to Japan much later. According to this article about the "Five Houses of Chan" Linji and Caodong are still around in China.

I don't see why meditation centres and practices are drawn as separate branches. Mahasi, Kanduboda, Tapovana, Thai Forest practices are modes of practice found in all Nikayas.
