The trap of luminous mind - Mae Chee Kaew

Except for an extremely refined perception - a perception that permeated the entire cosmos - nothing came. The mind had transcended conditions of time and space. A luminous essence of being that seemed unlimited, but incredibly empty, permeated the entire universe. Everything seemed filled with a subtle quality to know, as if nothing else existed. Having removed the things that obscured its essence that pervaded everything, his mind revealed his true power.

When the illusion sprouts were cut completely, your mind converged on a core of sublime radiance - a radiance so majestic and fascinating that Mé Chi Keu was sure she sinalava the end of all suffering which had been struggling to achieve. Having given up all attachment to personal identity factors, the radiant splendor and subtle to the center of the mind became his sole focus spare. The focal point of their science was so extremely delicate and refined as to be indescribable, and gave off a happiness that was unprecedented and wonderful that seemed to transcend completely the realm of conditioned phenomena. The luminous mind exuded a strong sense of power and invulnerability. Nothing seemed able to affect it. Mé Chi Keu was now certain that finally reached the ultimate goal, Nibbana.

In mid-October 1952, the phayom tree was in bloom, full and radiant. Sitting under it in an afternoon, his mind immersed in splendor, Mé Chi Keu felt it was time to inform Ajahn Maha Bua on his triumphant conquest. After all, he was the inspiration that led to this profound and majestic radiance of mind. It was time for her to repay his confidence with the fruits of his triumph. How was the day of uposatha, she went to visit in the evening; He left the monastery with several nuns as a company, walking together through the countryside surrounding the village, until they reached the other side. From there began the steep climb to the cave Ajahn Maha Bua, on the mountain.

Seeing Ajahn Maha Bua sitting at the entrance of the cave, Mé Chi Keu paid reverence to his teacher in a show of respect and exchanged greetings. Then bowed his head, put his hands on Añjali and asked permission to speak. He spoke of his progress during the year, carefully detailing the successive stages of his experience and concluded with his "lion's roar", radiant emptiness of mind that permeated the entire cosmos and transcended all conditions.

When stopped, Ajahn Maha Bua looked calmly and said, "That's it?" To which Mé Chi Keu nodded. Ajahn Maha Bua paused a moment and then said:

"When investigating mental phenomena to go beyond them altogether, the spare awareness elements will be attracted to a bright core science that merges with the naturally radiant essence of mind. This radiance is so majestic and charming that even transcendent faculties, as sati spontaneous and intuitive wisdom invariably fall under his spell. The brightness and clarity of mind seems so extraordinary and amazing that nothing can be compared. The luminous essence is the epitome of goodness and perfect virtue, the apex of spiritual happiness. It is your true 'I' original - the core of his being. But the real 'I' is also a fundamental source of all attachment to 'be' and 'become'. Ultimately, it is the attachment to the lure of this primordial radiance of the mind that causes living beings wander endlessly through the world of 'become' and 'stop', constantly grabbing at birth and experiencing death.

The root cause of addiction is the exact illusions about his true self. Illusion is responsible for all the elements that define consciousness, and his escape route is the movement of conscious activity. In this sphere, illusion reigns supreme. But when sati and wisdom are skilled enough to eliminate the conscious activity and thus close this leak, illusions caused by mental phenomenon flow ceases. Having cut all escape points of illusion, it no longer has room for maneuver within the mind, forcing her to concentrate within the radiant core where all knowledge emanates. This center of knowledge manifests itself as a luminous emptiness that really fascinates and wonder.

But that radiant emptiness should not be confused with the emptiness of Nibbana. Both are as different as day and night. The radiant mind is the original mind of the constant cycle 'become'; but not the mental essence that is completely pure and free birth and death. Brightness is a very subtle and natural conditions the uniform light and clear is empty look. This is our original nature, which is beyond name and form. But it is not Nibbana. It is the real substance of the mind that has been cleaned to the point of quality know majestic and charming is its most outstanding feature. When the mind finally gives up all attachment to forms and concepts, the essence of knowledge assumes extremely refined qualities. Gives up everything - except herself. It remains permeated by a fundamental illusions about his true nature. Because of this, the radiant essence became a subtle form of 'I' without you noticing. You just believe that the subtle sense of happiness and radiance were the unconditioned mental essence. Unaware of his mistake, you accepted this majestic mind as the final product. You believed that is Nibbana, the transcendent emptiness of pure mind.

But empty, brightness, clarity and happiness are all conditions of a mind still trapped by illusion. When you see the empty carefully, with sustained attention, you will notice that it is not really uniform nor constant. The vacuum generated by the primary illusion is the result of subtle conditions. Sometimes he changes a little - just a little - but enough to know that it is transient. Subtle variations can be detected, since all conditioned phenomena - no matter how refined, bright and majestic may seem - undeviatingly any irregular symptoms.
If it is indeed Nibbāna, why this refined state of mind has a variety of subtle conditions? It is not constant and true. Focus on that luminous center to see clearly that the brightness has the same characteristics - is transient, imperfect and non-essential - like all other phenomena that you have transcended. The only difference is that the brightness is much more subtle and refined.

Try to imagine standing in an empty room. You look around and see only empty space - everywhere. Absolutely nothing occupies that space - except you, standing in the middle of the room. Admiring empty, you forget yourself. You forget that you occupy a central position in that space. As so the room would be empty? While there is still someone in the room, is not really empty. When you finally realize that the room is never really empty unless you go, this will be the time when the fundamental illusions about his real 'I' disintegrate, and the pure mind free from illusion will manifest.

When the mind gives up all kinds of phenomena, the mind seems supremely empty; but one who admires the void, which is amazed by the emptiness, still survives. The 'I' as a reference point, which is the essence of all knowledge false, it remains integrated into the essence of knowing the mind. This view of the self is the primary illusion. His presence is the difference between the subtle emptiness of radiant mind and transcendent emptiness of pure mind, free from all forms of illusion. 'I' is the real deterrent. Once disintegrates and disappears, no obstacle remains. transcendent emptiness arises. As in the case of a person in an empty room, we can say that the mind only truly empty when the 'I' part once and for all. This transcendent emptiness is a complete and permanent disintegration that does not require any more effort to maintain.

Illusion is an intrinsically blind science, disguised as brightness, clarity and happiness. As such, it is the highest paradise self. But those qualities are loved all products of causes and subtle conditions. real void occurs only when every trace our conditional reality disappears.

Once you turn and see it for what it is, false science simply disintegrates. Obscuring his vision with its splendor, that light was a lie all the time hiding the true natural magnificence of the mind "

Very interesting.

"A 'position,' Vaccha, is something that a Tathagata has done away with. What a Tathagata sees is this: 'Such is form, such its origination, such its disappearance; such is feeling, such its origination, such its disappearance; such is perception...such are fabrications...such is consciousness, such its origination, such its disappearance.'" - Aggi-Vacchagotta Sutta

I am so confused....is Mé Chi Keu the same person as Mae Chee Kaew?? The latter is a woman...
Born, become, arisen – made, prepared, short-lived
Bonded by decay and death – a nest for sickness, perishable
Produced by seeking nutriment – not fit to take delight in

Departure from this is peaceful – beyond reasoning and enduring
Unborn, unarisen – free from sorrow and stain
Ceasing of all factors of suffering – stilling of all preparations is bliss

I think so. Lucas is using Google Translate remember, so prepositions, pronouns, etc may not emerge in the right form.
