Difference between Dosa and Patigha

Hi

Can somebody tell me the difference between Dosa and Patigha? Also give the exact English translations.

They're synonyms, just being placed under different groupings for ease of detailed analysis: dosa/hatred is one of the Three Poisons of lust, hatred, and delusion(raga, dosa, moha) (wiki def.); while patigha/aversion is one of the Seven Underlying Tendencies/Anusaya

Others are better qualified to answer this, but until they get here, I'll say that dosa is straightforwardly ill will, malevolence, or hostility; whereas patigha is something more like reaction, resistance, or "pushing back" against a stimulus or contact. I think the former is used more in ethical contexts, and the latter more in psychological.
