Bikkhu Bodhi in the following video says that 52 mental factors are not a comprehensive list of all mental factors.
Can you list what other mental factors are to be included in this list.

One thing mentioned by a couple of authors is the lack of accounting for memory.

Nyanaponika, in his "Abhidhamma Studies: Buddhist Explorations of Consciousness & Time"*, investigates this topic a bit.

I personally didn't find "respect" as a mental state there. Maybe "surprise" state as well. Some say about "fear". I think there can be more if you think a bit.

Hi SarathW

There are mainly 3 Abhidhamma school , their compendium are written in
- Abhidhammattha-sangaha by Acariya Anuruddha - a Theravada commentary that lists fifty-two mental factors.
- Abhidharma-kosha by Vasubandhu - a Sarvastivada commentary (studied by the Mahayana schools) that lists forty-six mental factors.
- Abhidharma-samuccaya by Asanga - a Yogachara commentary (studied by the Mahayana schools) that lists fifty-one mental factors.

Some mental factors are common by 3 schools but their positions are not the same.
And beside that, there are another mental factors specifics to the school.

You can see the list of mental factors (cetasika) here
