Peter was baptised into the Orthodox church last november.
I believe he took his leave of the mods at that time, with mutual goodwill.

Actually quite a lot of people did see it coming.

Oh yeah, I didn't look at the date before I posted! thought it was interesting seeing his name :)
Blog, Suttas, Aj Chah, Facebook.

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.

Wow...

Surprised, but not shocked. Although I am curious, I won't speculate or inquire any further on his reasoning for doing this out of respect for him and the fact that he is no longer here to respond.

I wish him the best.

I for one will not miss Peter. His posts were routinely nasty and rude - clearly wanting to provoke a fight. Let him go into the tumbrils. And for anyone who will say, that I am being "mean" read some of this person's posts and you'll find that I'm being very very restrained.

No holds barred from Mt. Meru,
(been a lot of crap on this mountain lately)
